OnePlus launched their successor to the OnePlus Nord, the Nord 2 5G. The Nord 2 5G offers much more than the first Nord and is loaded heavily with power, especially for a mid-range smartphone. OnePlus Nord 2 5G specifications:
The OnePlus Nord 2 5G comes with a 6.43-inch AMOLED FHD+ display that can provide a crazy 90Hz refresh rate. The phone will come with Oxygen OS 11.3, which is based on Android 11. The OxygenOS will also sport some features from the ColorOS because of the new merger between the two software. Inside the phone, the Nord 2 has a MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI SoC processor.
The phone camera consists of a triple-camera setup, which includes a 50 MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor, which can go to f/1.88 aperture, making it pretty suitable for portrait photography. Other lenses include an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP monochrome sensor. The main rear sensor also features OIS (Optical Image Stabilization). The front camera of the smartphone comes with a 32MP Sony IMX615 sensor. The front camera, like the ultra-wide lens, has EIS support.
The phone comes with 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-FI 6, Bluetooth v5.2 under connectivity options in other specifications. Apart from that, the Nord 2 comes with a 4500mAh battery that supports the company’s trademark Warp Charge 65.
Alongside the OnePlus Nord 2, 5G OnePlus also launched the OnePlus Buds Pro, which comes with Active Noise-Cancellation. They will be roughly priced at around Rs. 11,000, putting them in a much premium category. OnePlus also claims that the Buds Pro will come with an Adaptive Noise Cancellation system, which can cancel noise according to the person’s surroundings. The OnePlus buds Pro is designed to be premium TWS earbuds.
OnePlus Buds Pro specifications:
The Earbuds have 11mm dynamic drivers, very low latency of 94ms, and a dedicated gaming mode. OnePlus Buds Pro also offers Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation with three modes: Extreme, Faint, and Smart. The Extreme mode offers noise cancellation up to 40dB, and the faint mode offers noise cancellation up-to 25dB. The Smart mode offers noise cancellation according to the user’s environment, which is the new adaptive feature that OnePlus offers.
The Buds Pro comes with IP44 dust & water resistance. The charging case of the phone supports fast charging and can provide a 38-hour battery life to the Buds Pro. The warp charging claims to provide 10 hours of playback time with just a 10-minute charge.
The devices launched at the OnePlus Event on July 22nd offer a lot, especially at that price point. The Nord 2 looks pretty strong compared to its competitors in the mid-range smartphone segment. Buds Pro provides a lot of premium features and is looking quite hopeful. However, consumers have had an issue accepting the ColorOS and OxygenOS merger, but the final verdict can only be made post-sales as the Nord 2 will be equipped with the best of both worlds.
