Chinese tech company OPPO has officially launched its budget-friendly smartphone in Indonesia, the OPPO A16. Since May, regarding this particular device, there was a lot of buzz around in the tech industry, and it has finally unraveled itself for the consumers. The phone comes equipped with OPPO’s ColorOS version 11.1 based on Android 11. Priced at IDR 1,999,000 (approximately Rs. 10,300), many features are packed within its build. Some of them include a massive 5000mAh battery, bezel-less display, nighttime standby battery optimization mode, and much more.
Crystal Black, Pearl Blue, and Space Silver are the three colors that the OPPO A16 is available in. Currently, the phone is only available in Indonesia, and there have been no official confirmations from OPPO about its launch in India. Considering how well budget smartphones perform in India, OPPO A16 can unlock much of its sales potential in the Indian markets.
OPPO A16 Specifications:
It comes with a 6.52-inch HD+ display that houses a 60Hz refresh rate. It can provide up to 480 nits of brightness—the design of the phone sports a bezel-less display and a notch that accommodates the selfie camera. The OPPO A16 comes with just a single option for storage, which is the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, which is expandable with the help of a microSD card. This will be coupled with the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC. In connectivity options, the phone comes with 4G support, Bluetooth v5, and WiFi capability. The battery of the smartphone includes a 5000mAh battery that can be charged through a Type-C port.
The camera setup of the phone includes a triple camera setup. The primary camera will be of 13MP and a minimum aperture size of f/2.2. The second lens of the camera is a 2MP macro lens with an aperture up to f/2.4. The third lens of the camera includes a 2MP mono lens. These features enable the phone’s rear camera to click macro shots and portrait shots as a lower aperture complements portrait photography. Lastly, in the front camera setup, the OPPO A16 has an 8MP camera lens.
In other features, the phone comes with the infamous headphone jack, geomagnetic sensor, ambient sensor, proximity sensor, and a gravity sensor.
The phone provides a good amount of value for what it is priced. However, the phone is not available for Indian consumers. Hopefully, OPPO comes up with more news regarding if the phone will be launched in India or not.
