Realme is now working on releasing a new smartphone in India named Realme 8s. Going by the name, this would probably fit in well with the already launched 8 series which consists of the Realme 8, Realme 8 Pro and Realme 8 5G. Despite the lack of 5G support from the company’s smartphones in recent times, the upcoming 8s is touted to support 5G. The phone is also expected to house a rectangular shaped camera panel at the rear which will also include the LED flash. Moreover, this smartphone is set to launch alongside another named Realme 8i for the entry-level smartphone buyers.
Popular tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer has posted some pictures and states that from the renders leaked from the company’s website, the smartphone is set to be very similar to the Realme 8 series. These renders all suggest that the phone could launch Purple Hue colour scheme, while other colours are not out of the question.
In terms of the expected specifications, the Realme 8s would run on Android 11 with a Realme UI and will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC. It is reported to launch in two different variants where one is 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage and the other variant is 8GB RAM with 256GB internal storage. It packs a 6.6 inch HD display and a 90Hz refresh rate.
The smartphone is reportedly set to support fast charging and will feature 33W dart fast charging support and will offer a 5000 mAh battery. The basic connectivity feature would include bluetooth, GPS, WiFi, 4G, 5G support and the 3.5 mm headphone jack.
For the camera, the smartphone is expected to boast a triple rear camera setup with a 64MP main camera while the details of the other camera remain unknown. For selfies and Video chats, the phone will pack a 16MP front camera and could include additional features like Night mode and beauty mode.
There has been no official communication by the company on the launch and the price of the smartphone but given the company’s history, the smartphone will launch with 5G support at an affordable price for the people in the country.
